Identity

Program

You must be enrolled at least half-time in each semester for which you plan to receive student loans. The half-time requirement for summer is 4 credits; the half-time requirement for the fall or spring semester is 5 credits. You cannot receive student loans for a semester in which you are enrolled less than half-time.

What types of loans are you interested in?

The following types of financial aid are awarded by the financial aid office. Check the types of aid for which you wish to be considered. You may leave this blank if you will not be applying for loans for the - academic year.
You should only request this loan if you need to borrow more than the $20,500 maximum unsubsidized loan amount.
You must complete a separate application/promissory note and notify Law School Financial Aid when it is complete. Before you choose to borrow a private loan, please review the Federal & Private Loans page of the Law School website for information on federal loans which tend to have more favorable terms and repayment options/benefits.

Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan Request

This request form is being used in conjunction with the electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN) and the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling which must be completed online at www.studentaid.gov. Please refer to the Federal & Private Loans page on the Law School website for detailed instructions on how to apply for the Direct Unsubsidized Loan.

Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan Request

Indicate below the amount you would like to borrow in a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan for the coming academic year.

This request form is being used in conjunction with the Direct PLUS Loan Application (requires credit check), the electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN), and the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling which must be completed online at www.studentaid.gov. Please refer to the Federal & Private Loans page on the Law School website for detailed instructions on how to apply for the Direct Graduate PLUS Loan.

Certification and Authorization

I certify that all the information reported on the Temple University Law School Financial Aid application for the student is true, correct and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief, and agree to provide proof if requested by an appropriate Temple University official. I affirm that I will immediately report any changes in financial circumstances of student's status, including changes in income, address, housing status, and enrollment status to the Temple University School of Law Financial Aid Office. I also understand and agree that information in the student's computer files and manual records will be maintained, accessed and utilized by appropriate officials at Temple University under the financial aid program guidelines established by U.S. Dept. of Education and adopted by Temple University. (A copy of these guidelines is on file in the Financial Aid Office.) I authorize the Temple University Financial Aid Office to release to the U. S. Dept. of Education and/or any lending institution from which the student obtains a Federal Direct Loan any information in student's record which bears upon his/her eligibility for assistance or is required to administer his/her financial aid. I authorize the Temple University School of Law Financial Aid Office to have access to my academic file at the university for the purposes of processing federal, state or university financial aid.
