Course Description
This course covers the field which is known as “traditional labor law.” It covers the basic statutory framework that governs the right to engage in collective action and collective bargaining in the private sector workplace. The course will emphasize the protection of collective action in both the non-union and union workplace, the legal context in which labor organizing takes place, and the protections the law provides for the process of bargaining. The primary statute that will be studied is the Labor Management Relations Act, which encompasses the National Labor Relations Act and its various amendments.
