Course Description

We will examine The Fair Housing Act of 1968 and other laws and regulations aimed to curb discriminatory policies and practices and institutional barriers that have limited housing choice and economic opportunity for low-income and minority households. We will also review existing programs and tools used in the U.S. by federal, state and local government to develop, operate and preserve affordable housing. Finally, we will explore strategies and reforms non-profits and community-based organizations are advocating for to promote access to housing, housing innovation and equitable development in the United States.
