Trial Advocacy II

Course Description
Taken in the spring along with Civil Procedure II as part of the Integrated Trial Advocacy Program, coupled with the fall courses of Trial Advocacy I and Evidence, this course builds on the skills developed in Trial Advocacy I with particular attention paid to witness impeachment, the examination of expert witnesses, and the integration of a case theory into each aspect of trial performance. Trial Ad II has a decidedly civil trial advocacy orientation. Students will conduct depositions, argue motions and try a minimum of two mock civil lawsuits Students who elect the Integrated Program must enroll in the entire ten-credit, year-long course package. Trial Advocacy classes are capped at 12 students per section. There are no mid-year drops from this program.Successful completion of both Trial Advocacy I and II meets the advocacy prerequisite for clinicals.

This section of Trial Advocacy II is part of the Integrated Trial Advocacy Program (ITAP), a two semester, ten credit course package. This course is shown here for information purposes only. Students do not request this Trial Advocacy II section during the Fall or Spring, rather, during Registration for Fall 2017, students select their ITAP section and will be automatically registered for their Spring 2018 ITAP courses. Trial Ad I counts for 2 credits of Experiential courses and Trial Ad II counts for 3 credits of Experiential courses.
