LAW 5028: Law and Aging

Course Description

This course examines laws that affect the rapidly aging population in our society. The entitlement programs (Social Security, SSI, Medicare, and Medicaid) that are critical in preparation for retirement, long term care planning, guardianship and end of life decision making are among the subjects covered. The unique public policy considerations and ethical challenges, faced by attorneys practicing in this often complicated area of law, are focused upon throughout this class.
