LAW 5045: Pennsylvania Legal Research

Course Description

This is a practical, hands-on course which provides students with advanced training on finding and utilizing materials for legal research in Pennsylvania. The course introduces students to a wide variety of Pennsylvania-specific legal resources, which will be useful in a broad range of legal practice in the state. The overarching goal of the course is for students to become more confident and efficient researchers of Pennsylvania law. Students will learn advanced search techniques in subscription databases as well as more efficient ways to search the free web. The course grade is based upon class participation, out-of-class assignments, and a final research memorandum.
