Course Description

This practical, remedy driven course covers real-world consumer law issues, emphasizing federal and state statutes, regulations, and judicial decisions governing consumer financial transactions and the litigation of those disputes. Attention will be devoted to statutes which allow prevailing consumers to receive attorneys’ fees and the potential for consumer claims as class actions. The course will also involve discussion of practical and strategic matters that regularly arise in consumer law litigation.
