Course offerings for are still tentative. The information below is subject to change.

Course Description

In the Advanced Clinic, a small number of students who have completed the Systemic Justice Clinic will have the opportunity to engage in a more in-depth clinical experience. In the Advanced Clinic, students will further develop a matter, case, or project – in collaboration with a community organization, nonprofit legal provider, or other criminal legal reform stakeholder – making use of the skills and knowledge they have acquired during the preceding semester. Advanced students might work with students in the regular clinic, or separately.

The Advanced Clinic student will produce (1) a portfolio of written products, such as community education materials, policy briefs, and legal memoranda, and/or (2) a reflective paper that critically explores their role as a student-lawyer in carrying out their project. Students are also expected to participate in a weekly team meeting with their faculty supervisor. There is no classroom component.
