LAW 0806: Professional Responsibility - for International LLM students

Course Description

This writing seminar examines key ethical issues that lawyers commonly face in practice, as well as broader challenges to the legal profession. Particular attention is given to how professional responsibility standards are evolving in response to changes in the legal landscape.

Students will study the American Bar Association (ABA) Model Rules of Professional Conduct, bar association ethics opinions, case law, and relevant statutes. Through written assignments, students will reflect on both the legal doctrine and the underlying professional values that shape ethical lawyering in the United States.
