Course Description

This course introduces international LL.M. students to the fundamentals of legal research, writing, and advocacy in the United States, with comparisons to other legal systems. Students are placed in small groups for individualized instruction. After learning basic research techniques, students are assigned problems designed to strengthen both writing and analytical skills.

The objective of the course is to develop foundational U.S. legal skills in an informal seminar setting that encourages active participation, personalized feedback, and frequent interaction with the instructor.
