Course Description

This course examines the intersections of law and sexuality, focusing on how legal systems shape and influence sexual and erotic agency. Students will explore themes such as education, censorship, privacy, bodily autonomy, LGBTQIA+ rights, and the impact of shame and stigma on laws and policies that govern our intimate, relational and sexual lives. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students will examine how legal systems regulate, permit, or deny sexual and erotic agency, thereby shaping personal identities, beliefs, behaviors and societal interactions
