Adv Temple Law Asylum Project

Course Description
After having completed the Temple Law Asylum Project, students will have the opportunity to become part of the leadership team for the course, learning a new set of skills relating to course design and teaching. Advanced students will participate in initial course planning sessions before the start of classes, identifying relevant projects for the upcoming semester and redesigning aspects of the course with the course instructor(s). Advanced students will also participate in weekly leadership team meetings to plan upcoming classes and discuss and resolve challenges faced by students in the Asylum Project course. They may teach one or more classes, including designing and implementing relevant role plays, and may communicate directly with partners, including community groups and country conditions experts. They will provide guidance to students in the Temple Law Asylum Project around research challenges and effective approaches to drafting an ATOC. Advanced students may be assigned to create a new ATOC along with a partner and may work with one or more of the instructors to complete and update ATOCs drafted in prior semesters. They may also work on policy advocacy and community advocacy projects.
