LAW 0551: Trademarks and Unfair Competition

Course Description

This course explores the legal principles governing trademarks and related doctrines of unfair competition. Topics include the acquisition and enforcement of trademark rights, infringement, confusion, and dilution, sponsorship and brands, defenses, and remedies. The course also examines related causes of action, such as false advertising, and the interface among trademark law, free speech, and consumer protection.
