Course Description
This course offers an overview of the federal law governing the process of civil litigation in the United States. The course will cover jurisdiction, the allocation of authority between federal and state courts, principles of due process and an introduction to choice of law analysis. The course introduces students to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, federal procedural statutes, and procedural doctrine. Students may also study topics including pleading, motions, joinder, discovery, trial, and appeals.
