Course Description

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of legal research, analysis, and writing in a small-section format to promote individualized feedback and skill development. Students will learn how to effectively research and analyze legal issues and communicate predictive analysis in a variety of formats common to law practice. The course emphasizes practical skills, including understanding legal authority, structuring written analysis, and refining editing techniques. Throughout the semester, students will engage in hands-on exercises designed to prepare them for real-world legal writing. NOTE: Legal Research and Writing must be successfully completed [a] in order to graduate and [b] prior to taking any writing course.
