LAW 0779: Adv Family Justice Clinic: TLAO
Spring 2026 • Section S21

Course Description

After having completed the Family Justice Clinic and Seminar, students will have the opportunity to engage in a more in-depth clinical experience. Students enrolled in the Advanced Clinical Intensive will be the lead student lawyer on a systems advocacy project identified by one of the Clinic's community partners. Students will: (1) provide leadership for a team of students working on the project; and (2) take primary responsibility for all communication, goal-setting, strategy and work on the project. Students will also continue to provide individual legal advice and representation to families impacted by state intervention. This course will focus on multiple family justice issues each semester, with priorities guided by families most impacted by state intervention.

The course can range from one to four credits. For four credits, students are expected to devote an average of 12-15 hours/week over the semester, inclusive of team meeting time.
