LAW 0613: Health Care Law: Bioethics

Course Description

This course explores the ethical, legal, and social issues related to health care, public health, medicine, and science. During the course, students will examine the underlying theories of bioethics such as autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice, the role of law in development of these theories, and the impact of these theories on individuals and communities.  Representative topics include: medical experimentation with human subjects, genetics, reproduction, eugenics, public health, and access to care.
