Course Description
Current Topics - OSHA Regulations, OSHA Litigation, and Advising Clients on OSHA Compliance
Virtually every employer in the country is covered by federal or state occupational safety and health regulations. Not surprisingly, OSHA litigation and advising clients on OSHA compliance are niche and high-demand areas for attorneys. This course will begin by examining OSHA regulations and delving into the complex world of OSHA litigation. Next, we will turn our attention to both classic safety and health areas (such as construction worksite hazards) and more recent and controversial areas (such as heat stress and workplace violence). We will touch upon intersections between OSHA law and: attorney-client privilege; unions and labor law; wrongful death lawsuits; and whistleblower retaliation. Finally, we will discuss the challenging task of advising clients regarding OSHA compliance.
